Plásticos Impala was founded by two brothers, Alfredo and Alberto Simán Russ, in 1969 and became one of the most important manufacturers of plastic toys in Mexico. The company has released a wide range of simple toy cars and trucks in various scales, including a big VW Golf model (almost 40 cm long), reproductions of Tootsietoy models such as the VW Safari (Type 181) and the Jeep CJ-5, a Ford truck as a tanker, cement mixer, stake-body truck and fire engine, VW Beetle models in different sizes and in taxi and police liveries, as well as a Ford Mustang with racing stickers. The VW Beetle in 1/18th scale is a copy of the Amloid model from the USA. Besides model vehicles, Plásticos Impala manufactures many other plastic toys such as ride on vehicles, figurines, costume jewellery, dollhouse equipment, beach toys and musical instruments.
